About

The Faculty of Health and Human Sciences is a major provider of nursing, midwifery and health-related courses in the West London and Berkshire areas.

TVU is number two in the Guardian University Guide 2010 nationally for Nursing and number one in England.

The aim of the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences is to produce confident, competent and reflective practitioners who engage in evidence-based practice, are skilled in using change constructively and who make a positive impact in health and social care.

Having studied with us, you will have a reputation for the quality of your practice and your commitment to caring.

The Faculty of Health and Human Sciences has its origins in the establishment of the Wolfson School of Health Sciences within Thames Valley University (TVU) in 1994.

The Faculty brought together a number of schools and colleges of nursing and midwifery, including Queen Charlotte's College.

During 2000 - 2001 the Psychology subject group transferred into the Faculty, which then became the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences (FHHS). This part of the faculty has doubled in recent years and has developed a strong research culture.

The Faculty's latest innovation has been to incorporate the additional subject areas of Human Sciences and Complementary Medicine.

The Faculty has over 8000 registered students and has been outstandingly successful in delivering high quality courses of education and vocational training for the NHS.

This was recognised by the recent publication of the Independent's Good University Guide where TVU was ranked number 10 for nursing.
